1. How did you use new
media technologies in the
construction, research
and planning, and the
evaluation stages?

2. Media Technologies
Digitalisation
• Digitalisation has completely changed the way we produce
and exhibit our work. It has provided the basics to
beginners, the amateurs to expand their knowledge and
professionals to produce unimaginable things.
• The development and media convergence of digitalisation
has allowed for a single device to do a huge array of
things. For instance, most mobile phones have a camera
combined into the device that take pictures of incredible
quality.

3. Sony Handycam
• We used the Sony Handycam HD camera to film
our short film.
• As it was a digital camera, it allowed us the
chance to re-watch what we had already filmed
on the camera without the possibility of filming
over previous footage (which is a problem that
can occur with analogue tape cameras).

4. Final Cut Pro X
• To edit our film, we used Final Cut Pro X. This is
an industry standard movie editing software
developed by Apple.
• It is very easy to get a grip on whilst creating
something that looks quite professional. It allows
the user to rearrange video and audio clips with
ease and add transitions, effects and text on
almost any part of the video or audio.

5. Logic Pro 9
• We used Logic Pro 9 to create our own music and sound
effects for our short film.
• Logic Pro 9 is an industry standard music software which
enables the user to create compositions, songs or sound
effects.
• It has extensive sound editing capabilities but it takes a while
to understand every aspect of it as there is a lot of knowledge
that the user must know about music technology. Fortunately,
everyone in the group takes music technology and we
managed to create our own music with ease.

6. Adobe Photoshop
• I used photoshop to create my film poster.
Photoshop is an industry standard image editing
editing software and has incredible image editing
capabilities.
• It is fairly easy to get used to but can take a while
to create a something that takes a lot of image
editing that looks professional. Fortunately, I have
used photoshop many times before and was able
to create my poster with ease.

7. InDesign
• To create the film review, I used a desktop
publication software program called InDesign
created by Adobe Systems.
• It can be used to create works such as posters,
flyers, brochures, magazines, newspapers and
books.
• I have never used InDesign before but from the
help of my teacher I was able to pick up the basics
fairly quickly.

8. Wordpress
• Throughout the duration of the research and
planning, the construction, and evaluation of my
main product and the ancillary texts, I have been
blogging on a website called Wordpress.
• It allows the user to blog as much as they want in
almost anyway they want and can be more
interactive with slideshows, videos and audio
files.
