evaluate visual messages”
(Bristor & Drake, 1994. As quoted in Baker 2012)
In order to become literate in visual
language students need to develop visual
thinking skills.
How can we foster
visual thinking skills?
Step 1: Observation – People- Objects - Activities

Step 2: Inference –What can you infer? What makes you say that?
Step 3: Questions - What does this image bring to you mind?

- Observe each part.
- Try to make sense of it.

the most significant?

List adjectives that describe
the emotions portrayed.
What do they stand for?
