Documentation of cases in six states strongly implicates exposure to gas
drilling operations in serious health effects on humans, companion animals,
livestock, horses, and wildlife.
Without complete studies, given the many apparent adverse impacts on human
and animal health, a ban on shale gas drilling is essential for the protection of
public health.
19. Sierra Club Canada Atlantic Chapter’s Position
Municipalities have the legal right to
protect the health and well being of their
citizens and the environment, according to
2001 Hudson Supreme Court decision.
Support a municipal ban.
