Diversity
is the who and the what: who’s
sitting around that table, who's
being recruited, who's being
promoted, who we’re tracking
from the traditional
characteristics and identities of
gender and ethnicity, and sexual
orientation and disability—
inherent diversity characteristics
that we're born with.
Inclusion
on the other hand, is the how.
Inclusion is the behaviors that
welcome and embrace diversity. If
you are a great leader for inclusion,
you have figured out how to
embrace and galvanize diversity of
voices and identities. If I could have
my wish, every leader would say,
“Where is the diversity in this
conversation?”

20. Exploratory research is research conducted for a problem that has
not been studied more clearly, intended to establish priorities,
develop operational definitions and improve the
finalresearch design. Exploratory research helps determine the
best research design, data-collection method and selection of
subjects.

Pay equity is simply the right thing to do. We’ve achieved pay equity in
every country where we operate — women earn the same as men when you
factor in similar roles, markets, and performance. In the United States,
underrepresented minorities earn one dollar for every dollar white
employees earn.
Every year, we examine the compensation employees receive and make
adjustments where necessary to ensure that we maintain pay equity.
As part of our commitment to pay equity, we've stopped asking candidates
about their salary history in the United States and are in the process of
implementing this practice globally.

33. Learnings and key takeaways
• Keep exploratory research short (what
humans say is not what humans do)
• Focus on prototyping and testing live cases
• Fail fast, and iterate together with
stakeholders.
35. Next steps when exploratory
research doesn’t deliver
•When iterating, ask for help with mission/
vision.
•Invite stakeholders to explore value, create a
space to co-create
•Prototype, prototype, prototype.
36. May the inclusion be with you
Thank you

indeed, it's the only thing that
ever has.
