• Internet provides 24-7 access to information,
  news, entertainment and communication

• It has given rise to user-generated content, also
  known as Web 2.0

• Social Media is the #1 activity on the web

• Mobile devices such as smart phones have
  intensified access to web and social media

• Today‟s college and grad students are in the
  Gen Y demographic (born in 1980s and early
  1990s), also known as the Net Generation

• 85% of students at 4-year universities have
  Facebook profiles

• “Students will expect their learning to mirror
  their interactive lives”

• Should professors change to enhance pedagogy?
