2. The radio advertisement is audio rather than a visual advertisement, so in this we had to
ensure we used specific words that would jump out to the audience and let them know
exactly what the documentary is about. We used key words that are used in the main
product to make a strong link between the both.

Also we had to ensure the voice was enthusiastic as in the main product, we
used partly the same person Hayley to speak to give a taste of what the
documentary would be like as this would make them all flow together.
As well as this we used the same background music in the radio promotion as in
the documentary, this would make a clear link to the audience as they would
associate and recognise the song with the subject matter.
3. The newspaper advertisement along with the documentary is
visual and highly important in promoting our project.
At the beginning of the documentary the setting is in a forest near a bridge and a lake, we
chose this setting as it links to the theme of ‘spirituality’ and the idea of being ‘grounded’
and ‘at one with nature’, also the setting implies mystery and magic.
We decided to use a picture for the newspaper advertisement with the same background
as the setting in our main project, this will obviously make a clear link between the two,
we feel it was effective to do this as it is almost like a ‘snap shot’ from part of the
documentary.
4. We thought it would be best for the main ‘character’ to be on the front of the
advertisement rather than a scenic picture as this will emphasise the fact it is a personal
‘journey’ as a stereotypical documentary
For the clothing on the advertisement and throughout the documentary as a group we
wanted Hayley to look casual and normal to portray the feeling of Hayley being easy to
relate to as a normal teenager.
Using the same setting in the opening of the documentary and in the advertisement
poster connotes the theme of our topic of agenda being naturalistic.
5. After handing in all of the three elements of our coursework together, they
all had a clear link and as a group we thought they all did each other
justice and from a marketing point of view we concluded the newspaper
advertisement was a very positive view and attractive and therefore
would attract a large audience.
