Primary research: Primary research is when you carry out your own information. You could use 
interviews, questionnaires, surveys with people in small groups. 
Secondary research: Secondary research is when you use research of information that has been 
recently searched for other reasons and that is publicly available. 
Primary research 
PROS CONS 
- You are able to use your own knowledge on 
carrying out interviews 
- You are able to talk to someone else about 
their point of view (interviewing) 
- You can test it out with people that are in 
small groups 
- There is no right or wrong 
- Sometimes, it doesn’t work out so good 
because you aren’t being specific 
- Sometimes the questions that are asked 
isn’t really relevant 
Secondary research 
PROS CONS 
- There are a lot of easy access to get the 
information you need from the 
internet/website 
- You also have great access to different 
resources that you need 
- Sometimes the information you see on the 
internet is not true. 
- Which means it could jeopardize your hard 
work 
- The information’s are self-governed 
Qualitative Data 
Qualitative data is an information that is used to describe something, but does not measure the 
attributes 
PROS CONS 
- You are allowed to explore the topics in 
Quantitative data 
Quantitative data uses large amounts of numbers, which means that there are measurement units 
e.g. metres 
detail than quantitative data 
- Sometimes you don’t really have to 
interview a large amount of people 
- It saves a lot more time 
- It doesn’t necessarily show the amount of 
people that have answered your questions 
- Questionnaires and surveys don’t really 
allow you to use the things that you find to 
get a lot of audiences 
PROS CONS 
- It can be analysed a lot of data 
- It can also be anonymous (so you don’t 
know who it is) 
- The answers that you get are always limited 
- People are often biased

  • 1. Primary research: Primary research is when you carry out your own information. You could use interviews, questionnaires, surveys with people in small groups. Secondary research: Secondary research is when you use research of information that has been recently searched for other reasons and that is publicly available. Primary research PROS CONS - You are able to use your own knowledge on carrying out interviews - You are able to talk to someone else about their point of view (interviewing) - You can test it out with people that are in small groups - There is no right or wrong - Sometimes, it doesn’t work out so good because you aren’t being specific - Sometimes the questions that are asked isn’t really relevant Secondary research PROS CONS - There are a lot of easy access to get the information you need from the internet/website - You also have great access to different resources that you need - Sometimes the information you see on the internet is not true. - Which means it could jeopardize your hard work - The information’s are self-governed Qualitative Data Qualitative data is an information that is used to describe something, but does not measure the attributes PROS CONS - You are allowed to explore the topics in Quantitative data Quantitative data uses large amounts of numbers, which means that there are measurement units e.g. metres detail than quantitative data - Sometimes you don’t really have to interview a large amount of people - It saves a lot more time - It doesn’t necessarily show the amount of people that have answered your questions - Questionnaires and surveys don’t really allow you to use the things that you find to get a lot of audiences PROS CONS - It can be analysed a lot of data - It can also be anonymous (so you don’t know who it is) - The answers that you get are always limited - People are often biased
