1. Music and Sound Of Horror
Music & sound are very important things in a Horror as they are there to set the mood and
make it seem scarier for the viewers. Music for Horrors are a huge aspect as they can make
the setting more scary then they would normally be, any trailer for horror has this aspect
but are all done In different ways to get various effects from the viewer. A movie that does
this very Well is insidious, its music and sound is enough to get the sense’s tingling,
throughout the trailer the music transitions from violent action music with various sounds
too soft children’s lullaby’s, they sing these children’s lullaby’s really soft and slow to set the
mode In before playing the fast pace loud contrapuntal music to show the dips and dives in
the story’s narrative and how it goes from a chase scene to a scene where the spirit is
moving things around. This is necessary as it has to set the mood for trailer, because music
and sound is a genre signifier too.
What I have learned from researching these things is how to apply music in the right stages
and will take that with me to apply to my own trailer.
