1. Most movies begin with an equilibrium it’s all to do with the
balance (equilibrium) then something happens, the
disruption, then there is a resolution and then the
equilibrium is restored. This theory is applied to the
narrative and can be found in most common genres. .Most
action movie trailers essentially are one long quest with a
succession of different chase sequences, each one more
death defying and seemingly impossible than the one
before. Many action movie trailers have themes of deaths of
loved ones, massive destruction, and sinister upbeat nerve
racking music.
Die hard -John McClane, officer of the NYPD goes to Los
Angeles for Christmas to visit his estranged wife and two
kids. At the beginning all is good until john comes into town
he is the disruption because as soon as he arrives 12 terriost
begin to attack the town. Then the trailer starts to set its
tone as we begin to see a montage of violent scenes of john
fighting to protect his family but ultimately as to become
the hero of the day. We then start to see comical scenes
which we as the public wouldn’t necessarily find funny if we
were to be in that dangerous situation. The problem is
solved towards the end of the trailer were we see John
taking the terriosts down one by one , the trailer then ends
with a quote from john saying “got invited to the Christmas
party by mistake , who knew “.
2. The Equalizer –
A man believes he has put his mysterious past behind him
and has dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life.
But when he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent
Russian gangsters he can't stand by he has to help
her this is when the disruption begins (equilibrium,. It leads
him into starting a fight with some of the most dangerous
people in Boston. The second part of the trailer shows him
retrieving a co-workers ring from this minor act of things
start to escalate until Robert finds he is taking out members
of the Russian mafia. Based on the footage in this trailer,
it’s a pretty safe bet that they don’t settle their
disagreement peacefully. The problem is settled towards
the end where we see the Robert restoring peace in the
community and the young girl is seen happy and full of life.
Fury - In the trailer we see army sergeant Wardaddy
commands a Sherman tank and his five-man crew on a
deadly mission behind enemy lines. They are out-numbered,
out-gunned, and less likely to win the war. The tank crew –
serves as the guide for the audience, into this cinematic
recreation of the final, violent, days of the Second World
War Beyond that, the footage also touches upon the sense
of brotherhood among the men of Wardaddy’s team. There
is no restored ending as the last scenes are montages of
violent war scenes and ends on a cliff-hanger.
