Ludacris- Runaway Love ft. Mary.J.Blige Video
The genre of this is music video is mainstream hip hop/ urban. There was a
strong narrative of sexual abuse and young girls having a tough life which
shows there is problem around the whole world as they were different ages
and ethnicity’s showing that this is everywhere not only one place. The lyrics as
it goes through the video shows a story through the music video and a
narrative. The scenes showed a lot of rural areas like under bridges with loads
of graffiti to show the urban music side of it but also loads of missing posters.
What I liked about the music video that you see Ludacris dressed all
sophiscated and subtle when normally his got a known figure of wearing loads
of bling and talking about women in a degrading way of referring them to hoes
or other rude words but in this music video he is more suitable and looks more
respectable as this narrative is a more of a serious situations. This music video
can be a very hard thing to do as it is a known problem around the world and
can be emotionally to some viewers who have seen this music video and can
relate to the narrative and the lyrics.
Taylor Swift I knew you were trouble when you walked in.
The genre of this song is electro pop. The music video started with a long intro
of her talking about for 2 minutes about her falling in love and getting
heartbroken. The narrative shows Taylor falling in love and at the end she’s by
herself in the video, there was a strong visual style of rock 50s style with the
diners and motorbike guys and the way the dressed showing the guy always
making trouble. At the end of the video shows him kissing other girls at a rave
and her seeing him doing this as he is meant to be with her and at the end she
wakes up in a desert by herself with no one and she was saying she knew he
was trouble but didn’t want to believe it and denied this would happen to her.
What I like about the video that the narrative relates to the lyrics and shows us
the beginning of the video is actually the end but she just goes through the
story of how they met and what happened to her to be where she is from the
start of the video to the end in a desert by herself.

2. Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball
The genre is synthpop. The narrative and the lyrics of the song literally gets
straight to the point in the video as it goes on she sings you wrecked me and in
the vide you see her smashing walls and wrecking everything with a wrecking
ball and a sledgehammer which shows this how she feels and happened to her.
You can tell she is singing about an ex and how she still loves him and how she
is a mess and crashing down like the walls that crashes down in the video.
There isn’t much scenes but mostly she’s in a small confined place where she
felt trap and finally broke through by smashing her way out. Also I know before
Miley as a Disney Star but now this shows she has moved on and grown up and
this music video relates to her life. What I like about the music video is that it
shows the lyrics and relates to it and doesn’t show some random things or
scenes.
Katy Perry Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)
The genre is pop. The music video is quite long as it’s about 8minutes but it
shows a story as well as the intro shows Katy waking up to a Party she don’t
really remember from Last night but throughout the video it shows what she
got up to in the video. What I like about the video shows a geeky girl staying in
but when she actually dresses and gets all done up she actually gets attention
from the Jock. For me the video shows that you don’t have to be popular or
always dress to impress and anyone can be pretty and even though you might
be a geek you still know how to have a good time more than other people.
There are loads of scenes around the whole house showing every bit of the
party showing what happened and the narrative relates to the lyrics as it is a
party song. But mostly what I like that its funny and got humour throughout
the video and you can have a laugh at it and it’s like a short movie.
