About the Play: The play is focused upon what is Kabir rather than who is kabir. At the time of Kabir, Whether it’s a Hindu religion or the Muslim, both of the religion were driven by orthodox thinking. No doubt it is still present but Kabir have already mild that thinking. This play enlightens from Darkness of fallacy and superstition. Kabir’s life was full of situations and plots of drama because the decision to go to Maghar for self-annihilation was came after great contemplation of soul. He talked about the God &purity; God lies in inner and only when if you’re inner self is pure. We usually condemned about the trap of the place, but this doesn’t depend the place, it depends upon the ‘Karma’. It is quiet dramatic, when the Kabir was prosecuted at the court of King Sikander Lodhi on the complaint of religious leaders of the state. During that trial, the Kabir’s assertions and reasons broke the false strata created by the religious leaders and finally the King acquitted the Kabir. Even the King accepted his greatness. This play shattered the illusion of truthiness and Falseness. It moves beyond the truth.

Punjab. He has retired
as Prof. of English from Punjab Agricultural University,
Ludhiana. He has
researched Western and Punjabi Plays and created a
thesis in English.
He wrote this play in Punjabi. He has translated and
staged many
English plays in Punjabi. His play ‘Dulla’ had published
in Pakistan. Even
he has edited the seven Punjabi one-act plays of
Pakistan.

4. About The
DirectorHappy Kalizpuria, is a young bloke from the remote village Kalizpur at Gurdaspur
District of Punjab. At the very tender age of 19, he started theatre with eminent theatre
directors of Punjab. Exploration played a important role in everyone’s life, so to explore
himself, he shifted his base for graduation degree in performing arts at private
university in Jalandhar and also started furbishing his talent with amateur and raw
theatre groups. Thirst didn’t stop here, so he applied for PG at Bhartendu Natya
Academy, Lucknow. After the selection, he studied over there on scholarship. In the
short span of 5 years, he has worked with pundits of theatre like Deveander Raj Ankur,
Robin Das, Partho Banerjee, SuryaMohan Kulshreshta, Ashwath Bhatt, Raghav Parkash,
Lailt Pokharia, Chitra Mohan, Bhumikehswar Singh as well as young directors like
Mahipal Pathania, Amit Jindal; in various productions as Actor on lead as well on the
Backside of stage. The list of plays is quite large, near about 50+ plays, but here few are
fore reference Tempest, Othello, Andha Yug, Duwidha, 377, Ashaad ka ek din…. He
had directed a Play ‘Sajda’ based upon the stories of Amrita Pritam and performed at
eminent stages of India. During the days of graduation, he created a theatre group
Anonymous Theatre, with whom is still working. He has done many plays as a Director
like – Pattan di beri, sajda, kabir, Drown boy, etc.
