Microsoft recently launched a pre-release of Office 365 Planner, which is a Kanban-like simple task management tool. Although the product is still very new, it is already positioned as a serious contender to other popular task planning tools such as Trello due to the amount of functionality it offers. Planner is tightly integrated with Office 365 Groups and leverages the Groups’ conversations, calendar, files, and OneNote functionality.
In this session I discuss some of the key differences and main deciding factors on using of solution over the other.

Goals
Transform from a paper-based, compartmentalized organization to a “digital government.”
2,000 employees, 500 mobile users
Setup intranet on SharePoint and social networking on Yammer
Platform for organizing work activities was missing.
And now that 1,000 employees are using Microsoft Planner to better organize their group initiatives, everyone is more accountable with deliverables and timelines
