Project is:
- Every human endeavour which achieves some results or goals,
- Endeavour with limited time and cost, by which is realized correctly defined set of
products, consistent with the goals, acknowledged by standards of quality and needs of
the customer,
- Single process which consists of a set of coordinated and controlled activities with a
known beginning and end, and by its execution is achieved goal,
Characteristics of Projects:
- Unique
- Clearly Defined Goals
- Contain Phases
- Preformed within limits
- Contain risks
- Resources
- Bring changes
Differences between Project and Production:
Organisation + Human resources + Work = Project / Production,
Mutual Characteristics:
- Made by human work,
- Limited by resources,
- Have these phases: planning, execution, controlling.
Differences:
- Production is continuous and repeatable process

2. - Project is unique and temporary Endeavour that is made by a flexible and changeable
team,
So, Project’s Characteristics are:
- specific goals
- single / unique
- limited time
- project organization
- temporary teams
- rapid changes
- uncertainty in the process
And Production’s Characteristics are:
- wide objectives
- repeatable situation
- continuous process
- functional organization
- permanent teams
- slow changes
- relatively safe process
