1. ABSTRACT
About Designand Analysis of a (C+G+5)CommercialBuilding (R.C.C):
The Design and Analysis of slabs, beams, columns and footings were completed using theory
from Reinforced Concrete Design and Structural Analysis by ETABS software which uses limit
state method conforming to Indian Standard Code of Practice. Drawings were done using
AUTO-CAD. To prevent the misuse of these software applications, the Limit State Design was
exclusively used as a hand calculation method to verify the output from ETABS. Manual design
calculations were done to double-check the software results. In this project we design the slabs
only with ETABS software; the remaining will be designed as manual.
Tasks:
1. The structural design and analysis of commercial building with R.C.C frame structure
in which, ALL floor slab designed as FLAT slab and basement retaining walls with
R.C.C
2. Basement is planned for Parking.
3. Ground floor for Showrooms.
4. Upper frame for Commercial and Office Space.
5. The drawing and design of the structure is done on AUTO-CAD and ETABS
software’s respectively.
6. Manual design calculations of slabs were done to cross-check the ETABS results.
Description:
The Design of Commercial Building with both software and manual interfaces helps in
reducing economy in construction without reducing the strength and serviceability of the
structure as a whole. The software’s used are ETABS and AUTO-CAD and manual designing in
carried out by LIMIT-STATE METHOD. Ground floor which are provided with wider entrances
are designed for showrooms, whereas as typical floors is designed for office use and other
commercial purposes. The Basement is designed for a sufficient & comfortable parking space.
