2. DEFINITION OF FILTRATION
The settled water then goes through filters where the fine
particles and bacteria are trapped. The clean water then goes
to the clear water tank. The filters are back washed regularly
through a combination of agitation by air and water to ensure
efficient operations.
6. Mixture Of Chemical :
FLUORIDE
Fluoride is the process of adding fluoride
content in the treated water at acceptable levels.
The aim is to prevent disease and tooth decay.
The chemicals used are sodium silicon fluoride
allowable dose rate between 0.6 - 0.8 mg / liter.
7. DISINFECTION (Chlorine)
Disinfection is a process that still kills germs found in
the water that has been filtered.
There are many methods to kill bacteria, among which
are the use of ozone, ultra-violet rays and chlorine.
Normally the use of chlorine used to have a low price,
easy and able to be handled and measured disinfection
in the distribution system.
