1. Statement of Purpose
Introduction
My name is Arjun Sharma and I described myself as hardworking and dedicated student. In
my Family there are 4 members including me, my father Mr. Ravinder Sharma is working in
Swaraj Mahindera as a marketing manager and my mother Mrs. Nisha Sharma is retired
from Office of the Accountant General (A&E), Punjab, Chandigarh and my elder sister Ms.
Neha Sharma, she is also apply for higher study in Australia in Griffith University. I believe
that through hard work we can demonstrate a strong ability to manage projects from
conception through to successful completion. I would like to pursue my further education
abroad in a multicultural environment and to seek my education in a business arena. I
believe that “Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom”. Though I have
completed my Bachelor of Commerce and after researching on more career options I see
that my interest lies more in business field. I have decided to gain more knowledge and skills
through this Course in several business areas. This course will open a broad scope of career
opportunities. I have completed my matriculation from Ryan International School Sec 49
Chandigarh Affiliated with Central Board of Secondary Education on 24 May 2012 with 7.2
CGPA and senior secondary from Ryan International School Sector 49 B Affiliated with
Central Board of Secondary Education on 28th May 2014 with 68.6% in Commerce group. I
have completed my Bachelor of Commerce from Post Graduate Government College Sector
46, Chandigarh Affiliated to Panjab University Chandigarh with 55.51% in May 2017. Soon
after my graduation I make my mind to pursue my higher degree from abroad because I
don’t want to do it from India, reason will discuss bellow. So to fulfill the basic eligibility I
have done IELTS on 16th September 2017 and got 7.0 band overall.
Why not doing course from India:
Yes, I believe that India has developed a lot in the field of Business & commerce. There are
good educational institutions such as PU, IIM and other Business Schools too, which provide
Masters Degree. To get good knowledge in this field, I have to take admission in some of
the good Institutions but getting admission is a huge task in good institute. In spite of
obtaining good marks we have to cross lots of hurdle such as entrance exam and
preparation for that, donation, cast systems etc make it more difficult. Not only this even
the education system is not advanced and lack of infrastructure which affect the practical
knowledge. Even course contains are not as per the job market. Educational institution
follows same old format and structure. In India knowledge is evaluate on the basis of year
end examination, so to get that student need to mug up the things. I believe in this
profession practical knowledge is more important so I drop the plan of pursuing my degree
from India and started my research on other countries.
2. Why not Selecting USA, UK, Canada or New Zealand:
I have searched the above options for above countries and found out that there are country
specific issues like in Canada my 3 years qualification is not recognized for Master. There is
requirement of experience for Master courses in both Canada and US. I have searched the
above options for above countries on various websites like –www.canada.ca, www.gov.nz,
www.usa.gov, etc and found out that there are country specific issues like admission
problem in a top rated institute and also in Canada weather is not to the my liking and wage
rate is very less as compared to Australia and in USA there are policies issues on the part of
Government. As compared to NZ, Australian University and living is more advanced.
Australian wages rate and living considered as best as compared to these countries. As per
the website http://www.smh.com.au/cqstatic/gxx1l4/LiveabilityReport2017.pdf and
according to ‘The Global Liveability Report 2017’ the most liveable cities are Melbourne,
Australia. So Australia Rank No 1 and Canada on No 3 and New Zealand on No 8. Further
course progression opportunities are also a factor for choosing Australia as I would credit of
MPA courses for professional qualification like CPA. So, Australia provides more opportunity
for future development and helps a person to became a global professional
Why Study in Australia:
Australia is a dynamic, vibrant country with energetic, friendly people. Multicultural

among the highest in the world. Living expenses and tuition costs in Australia are
considerably less expensive than the UK and USA. Australian economy remains one of the
most buoyant in the developed world, with low unemployment and inflation. While they
may be by-products, their importance and usefulness cannot be underestimated; these skills
and qualities are essential for global success. Australian Universities & Institutes are
