Academic Regulations Committee
(ARC) Petitions
• For undergraduate students requesting that certain University policies be
waived through the Academic Regulations petition process, this process can
be used to:
– late add a course after the add/drop deadline (limited to 2nd week of classes)
• Fees apply – check with Registrar’s Office
• No adds after 2nd week of class unless course(s) needed for Bachelor’s graduation
– withdraw from select courses after the withdrawal deadline
• Must have cause. Not being aware of withdrawal deadline is not cause.
– withdraw from all courses in a term
– have a course deleted from the academic record
• Typically due to medical issues; requires completion of ARC form from physician/medical
provider
– override the withdrawal limit
• 5 total at USF: 3 up to 60 credits; 2 over 60 credits
– request reinstatement to the University following academic dismissal

Campus Conversations
• The University of South Florida is coming together
from a variety of disciplinary perspectives and
personal points of view to explore a campus theme.
The theme for the 2017-2018 year is Identity and
Community. Join the conversation as we discuss:
– Who am I? Construction and Identity
– Community Conversations: Affiliations with Others
– I am a Global Citizen: Identity Beyond the Here and Now
– Speak Up: Roles and Rights Within Communities
15. Nursing Program Track
• The Nursing programs at USF involve two
steps since they are limited access:
– Pre-Nursing: the major that prepares student for
applying to a nursing program at USF
• Usually consists of first two years at the University
– Nursing: accepted program majors that lead to
the conferring of a BSN degree from USF
• Usually occurs during last two years at the University
16. What are the Nursing Prerequisites?
• Pre-requisites for Nursing (completed with a grade ‘C’ or better
for Pre-Nursing program):
– Chemistry or Biology or Physics (CHM, BSC, PHY) (3)
– Psychology (PSY 2012) or Sociology (SYG 2000) (3)
– Life Cycle (DEP 2004) (3)
– Statistics (Any STA course) (3)
– Microbiology (MCB 2000/L) (4)
– Human Nutrition (HUN 2201) (3)

17. Nursing Specific Prerequisite Courses
• The College of Nursing offers four of the required
pre-requisite courses specifically for pre-nursing majors:
