27. 27Ask a Top Supporter to Offer a Matching Challenge
• Reach out to your biggest supporters
and board members
• Ask if they’ll offer a matching
challenge where they’ll provide a
significant donation as long as your
organization raises an equivalent
amount
Kent State University’s President offered
to match up to $25,000 in 2015. Total gifts
excluding the match came in at 10x the
amount.
• Large donors want to support
organizations that are actively and
successfully fundraising from others
• Donors respond better to appeals
where their dollars go further

28. 28Partner With a Local Company or Foundation
• Contact local businesses to see if
they’ll match donations up to a set
amount
• Incorporate the matching offer and
company information in your appeals
• Companies and business owners
are already making charitable
contributions
• Provide an easy way for them to
align their support with a cause
they care about while receiving
benefits such as social media and
brand promotion

match donations made by employees to a wide
range of nonprofits
• Encourage donors to take advantage of their
programs to have their donations be doubled
• Individuals are already supporting
your cause
• If you raise awareness and make it
easier for donors to submit matching
gifts then you’ll see an increase

Hello everyone and welcome to our webinar, #GivingTuesday Game-Changer
I would like to go over a few housekeeping items so you know how to participate in today’s event:
We've taken a screen shot of an example of the Attendee interface. You should see something that looks like this on your own computer desktop in the upper right corner.
If you have joined the presentation listening using your computer's speaker system by default, and you would prefer to join over the telephone, just select “Telephone” in the Audio pane and the dial-in information will be displayed.
Also, as always, we’ve blocked off a few minutes at the end of today’s event to answer your questions!
To submit a question to today’s presenters, type it into the Questions pane of the control panel on the right hand side of the screen. You may submit questions at any time during the presentation; we will collect these and try to address as many as possible during the Q&A session at the end of today’s presentation. You can also submit them thru twitter using #GivingTuesday
