This document discusses the application of web 2.0 technologies by libraries and their users. It argues that libraries need to shift their focus from product-oriented to user-oriented services. Libraries should place their resources and services in the workflows of faculty and students by appearing in multiple environments like portals, repositories, and through tools on the desktop and web browser. The document provides examples of libraries using mashups, widgets, browser extensions, and social networks to better integrate with user workflows.
