The denotations of this image clearly establish a man and woman, who evidently project connotations of difficulty in terms of communication. The woman seems very modest and down to earth in the way she’s dressed and has her hair, which contrasts well with the mise en scene. The man looks out into the distance with a glare of ambition, thinking ‘the sky is the limit’. The image is composed very neatly. There is a very clear eye flow in the image, with the sky in the middle and two characters on each side of the image.
3. The colour scheme of this poster is a mixture of pastel colours that link well with the colour imagery in the film title. Both Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz are wearing brown clothing with very simple hairstyles which blends well with the vanilla sky in the background.
4. The way the title is written is very simple and quite small. This puts focus on the image and the stars of the film rather than the name of the movie. Like Leonardo Dicaprio, Tom Cruise is well known for his prestigious films, therefore the photographer here wanted to put focus on the actor and the scenery rather than the name of the movie.
