Dear Mr.Bruegge (Adidas), The 5th grade class of the International School of Latvia is collecting shoes for needy kids together with Hope for Children.Hope for Children is an organization that helps street kids and other poor children with medical assistance, food aid, and family support. We are organizing this shoe drive as part of our unit of study- poverty. So far we have had a Haiti fund raiser and we collected about $1600! We have also started work in Riga for Sisters of Charity which helps kids and families in need. There, we are teaching English and doing craft activities with these kids every Saturday! All of this including collecting shoes! We would like you to donate shoes for this special cause and 1 reason is these kids only get 1-2 pairs of shoes every year. For these kids it would be their dream come true to get a pair of Adidas shoes! And we would accept the shoes gratefully! Of course we would mention you when we present our poverty exhibition to the school community, and say how you were a great help. And we would be happy to advertise your shoes in our school too. Again, thank you for considering giving shoes. It will make a big difference to many poor kids! Poverty is a global problem as much as helping is a global solution.Remember, a million small actions are better than a million big thoughts. Sincerely, The 5th grade class of ISL!
