The Age Range <ul><li>Our demographic is the age range 35-54. </li></ul><ul><li>Around half of this age group have children, which means a lot of their viewing time will be taken up by children’s television. </li></ul><ul><li>They are generally out of the house between 9:30am – 4:30pm. </li></ul><ul><li>78% are married or co-habitant. </li></ul><ul><li>Weekend generally the only free days. </li></ul>

Relation to Television & Radio <ul><li>Programs like the BBC’s ‘6 O’clock News’ are scheduled specifically for this age group as are other types of programs like soaps and light entertainment. </li></ul><ul><li>Radio stations such as BBC Radio 2 & 4 broadcast programs with our age demographic in mind. </li></ul><ul><li>Programs that break some of the watershed rules are also scheduled for viewing after the children have been put to bed. ‘Spooks’ and ‘Hustle’ are examples of these. </li></ul><ul><li>Consumption is mainly on the television, this ties in with the types of program scheduled for that age group. </li></ul><ul><li>Radio shows provide advertisements for television shows our demographic would be interested in through interviews with people involved in the television show. </li></ul><ul><li>This is timed for the hours when people in our demographic are most likely to hear them, for example rush hour traffic. </li></ul><ul><li>Radio stations such as BBC Radio 2 & 4 broadcast programs with our age demographic in mind. </li></ul>

  5. 5. New Media <ul><li>New media technologies potentially allow every demographic to access more content more easily, for example, video, music and image feed over the internet. Pocket computers and MP3 players. </li></ul><ul><li>This group represents 41% of the online community. </li></ul><ul><li>75% of our demographic have internet connection. </li></ul>
