Strategic Sourcing Manager                                                                 2010 to Present
Senior Buyer                                                                               2005 to 2010
Report to Vice-President Construction & Property Development for the largest and most prestigious Gaming
Corporation in Canada with 5200 employees and total sales of over $400M in 2009. The Corporation owns and
manages 11 casinos, a 4-diamond hotel, 5 racetracks and 2 live show theatres.

Management and Leadership:
• Promoted to manage daily operations of Procurement Department in 2009; approval of new job title as “Strategic
  Sourcing Manager” 2010.
• Oversaw leadership of Procurement Department for 7-month period in 2008 due to absence of superior.
• Accountable for portfolio of services/commodities associated with facilities and operations. On an ad hoc basis,
  also accountable for services/commodities associated with property development.
• Research vendor markets, develop/maintain key relationships with vendor base, negotiate complex deals, and vet
  all major facilities & operations contracts.
• Manage key procurement projects, collaborate with stakeholders, make presentations, develop performance
  metrics for appraising vendors, analyze financial data, and make strategic recommendations to executive teams.
• Chair supplier performance reviews and oversee supplier Appreciation Dinners.
• Train procurement staff, delegate tasks, and provide employee coaching to meet corporate goals and deadlines.

Strategic Sourcing Projects – Facilities and Operations Category:
•   Spearheaded strategic sourcing facilities and operations project in 2008 resulting in savings of $700K per annum
    on a $2.6M spend. Met weekly with stakeholders (Steering Committee comprised of Vice-President of Finance,
    Controller and external consulting team - Meyers Norris Penny LLP). Responsible for conducting presentations,
    analyzing category data, and making recommendations. Commodity groups included: audio-visual,
    telecommunications, computer hardware, disposal paper, and plastic products.
•   Manage multi-million dollar spend associated with professional services including: management consultants,
    lawyers, IT, human resources, engineers, architects, graphic designers, interior decorators, etc.
•   Accountable for multi-million dollar spend related to contractors including: waste removal, HVAC, refrigeration,
    mechanical, janitorial, electrical, plumbing, lighting, landscaping, facility restoration, etc.
•   Directed cross-functional team to rationalize/consolidate $10M food and beverage spend. Analyzed supplier price
    lists and velocity reports to build performance metrics. Spearheaded initiative to establish national contract for
    food and beverage purchases. Decreased annual spend by $600K.

•   Travelled to Las Vegas with executive team to negotiate final terms and conditions of $2.2M purchasing
    agreement for slot machines (the corporation’s core commodity providing significant source of revenue).
•   Selected as business process SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the P2P (Purchase to Pay) implementation
    project. Worked closely with external consulting team to drive procurement costs down by 15%.
•   Lead project re: digital document management and retrieval (vendors included Konica Minolta and Ikon Business
    Solutions). Collaborated with IT Manager to source software/equipment.
•   Assessed $400K printing contract for hardware and services. Sourced new supply partner and decreased expenses
    by 50 percent per annum over 5 years.
•   Sourced software product that bridged with internal Point of Sale (POS) system to maximize control over sales
    forecasting, labour costs and inventory. Assisted with feasibility study and system testing.

Strategic Sourcing Projects – Property Development Category:
•   Worked with Head Office team and directed FFE (Fixtures/Furniture/Electrical) buying for the launch of
    prestigious River Rock Casino Resort; managed $10M spend. After successful launch, directed purchasing
    activities (materials/equipment/supplies/service contracts) for multiple establishments including: Red Robinson
    Theatre (launch), Fraser Downs Racetrack (acquisition), Boulevard Casino (expansion), Dawson Creek Casino
    (launch), Halifax Casino Nova Scotia (expansion), and Hasting Racecourse (expansion).
•   Coordinated purchasing functions for property development projects. Forecasted budgets - each individual
    construction project budget up to $10M. Analyzed price points, determined quality specifications and prepared
    procurement reports.
•   Directed a critical sourcing initiative to acquire a Parking Consultant for the development of $90M parking
    strategy for the corporation’s flag ship facility (River Rock Casino Resort) involving Translink and YVR.
•   Lead the negotiation team that established and finalized the terms and conditions of a complex maintenance/
    service contract for a $4.1M Mitsubishi circular escalator (one of two state-of-the-art escalators in North
    America).

RADISSON HOTEL VILLA, Burnaby, BC                                                                    1996 to 2004
Purchasing Manager

Reported to President for franchised 4-diamond organization with 300 rooms, sports pub, restaurant, lounge
and multiple banquet facilities.

•   Directed all purchasing functions and consulted with President/executive management team to develop annual
    purchasing goals in alignment with $7.5M annual budget.
•   Supervised staff members. Initiated and developed policies/procedures for purchasing functions. Wrote
    comprehensive employee manual successfully utilized by all staff to improve daily procurement operations.
•   Oversaw $250K annual contracts for professional services and contractors. Decreased expenses by 15% by
    negotiating multi-year, fixed price contracts.
•   Oversaw corporate pricing re-structuring program subsequent to company’s acquisition of 2 new properties.
    Monitored costing and executed changes for pricing, product quality and service contracts.
•   Orchestrated $100K replacement project to source and procure product which resulted in project 25% under
