Corporation in Canada with 5200 employees and total sales of over $400M in 2009. The Corporation owns and
manages 11 casinos, a 4-diamond hotel, 5 racetracks and 2 live show theatres.
Management and Leadership:
• Promoted to manage daily operations of Procurement Department in 2009; approval of new job title as “Strategic
Sourcing Manager” 2010.
• Oversaw leadership of Procurement Department for 7-month period in 2008 due to absence of superior.

also accountable for services/commodities associated with property development.

Controller and external consulting team - Meyers Norris Penny LLP). Responsible for conducting presentations,
analyzing category data, and making recommendations. Commodity groups included: audio-visual,
telecommunications, computer hardware, disposal paper, and plastic products.
• Manage multi-million dollar spend associated with professional services including: management consultants,
lawyers, IT, human resources, engineers, architects, graphic designers, interior decorators, etc.
• Accountable for multi-million dollar spend related to contractors including: waste removal, HVAC, refrigeration,
mechanical, janitorial, electrical, plumbing, lighting, landscaping, facility restoration, etc.
• Directed cross-functional team to rationalize/consolidate $10M food and beverage spend. Analyzed supplier price
lists and velocity reports to build performance metrics. Spearheaded initiative to establish national contract for
food and beverage purchases. Decreased annual spend by $600K.

• Travelled to Las Vegas with executive team to negotiate final terms and conditions of $2.2M purchasing
agreement for slot machines (the corporation’s core commodity providing significant source of revenue).
• Selected as business process SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the P2P (Purchase to Pay) implementation
project. Worked closely with external consulting team to drive procurement costs down by 15%.

activities (materials/equipment/supplies/service contracts) for multiple establishments including: Red Robinson
Theatre (launch), Fraser Downs Racetrack (acquisition), Boulevard Casino (expansion), Dawson Creek Casino
(launch), Halifax Casino Nova Scotia (expansion), and Hasting Racecourse (expansion).
• Coordinated purchasing functions for property development projects. Forecasted budgets - each individual
construction project budget up to $10M. Analyzed price points, determined quality specifications and prepared
procurement reports.
• Directed a critical sourcing initiative to acquire a Parking Consultant for the development of $90M parking
strategy for the corporation’s flag ship facility (River Rock Casino Resort) involving Translink and YVR.
• Lead the negotiation team that established and finalized the terms and conditions of a complex maintenance/
service contract for a $4.1M Mitsubishi circular escalator (one of two state-of-the-art escalators in North
America).
