Alternative Representation My Magazine presents an alternative representation of young adults (17-Early20’s) It represents them as being individual, most people feel the younger generation follow groups and are very stereotypical about what they wear, the stuff they get up to etc. my magazine expresses how my target audience differentiate themselves from other young adults.

3. Individual, Talented Young adults My target audience have a huge interest in bands and musical instruments such as electric guitars, ukuleles, drums etc. They like to create music that you would not find in the top 40, it represents individuality and creativity.

Young people represented in my media product Young people are being represented alternatively to the current stereotype of young people, in some ways they are challenging the dominant ideology people have of young people. The young people being represented in my media product are being represented as unique, talented in what they do, and great appreciators of music. They are also seen as quite witty intelligent kids, who understand and appreciate the talents in music. They are the sort of people that could represent music as art, and not follow stereotypical trends of what to wear, how to act etc.
