I am going to install version 2.4.0
I am following the instructions from:
http://www.openfoam.org/download/source.php
Development tools
Verifying that the most common
tools are already installed
Select OpenMPI
Check that the qt & CGAL stuff
are installed
Choose the right line that fits your setup
Building OpenFOAM
[telzur@localhost OpenFOAM­2.4.0]$ ./Allwmake 
This will take some time.
Have a cup of coffee
Paraview
    ­­­
    Installation complete for paraview­4.1.0
    Set environment variables:
        export ParaView_DIR=/...
Rest of the installation
cd $FOAM_UTILITIES/postProcessing/graphics/PV4Readers
WmSET
./Allwclean
./Allwmake
...and then fi...
Checks
[telzur@localhost OpenFOAM]$ mkdir telzur­2.4.0
cd telzur­2.4.0
mkdir run
cp ­r $FOAM_TUTORIALS $FOAM_RUN 
The Cavity example
blockMesh 
icoFoam 
paraFoam
paraFoam
