1. Story-telling Reflection
My Story is called Ninjas vs. Skeletons.
The Planning Phase:
I chose to write a fantasy genre because they are fun stories to read and I read
fantasy books a lot of the time.The most interesting thing about my main
character is that he is powerful and he can fight skeletons so well.I didn’t enjoy
creating the setting because it took as forever to finish the setting.
While making my plot diagram, I found it difficult to create a main character.My
best idea during planning was making guards in the story.
The Drafting Phase:
It was difficult to write my story because I had never written a story like
authors do.I am proud of my story because my group worked really hard on
the story.During the Writing Workshops, I became better at using dialogue.If I
wrote it again, I would improve my story by showing to authors for more ideas.
The Digital Phase:
I am proud of my movie because the pictures are really good and the song is
also good.I found it difficult to create the storyboard because it took us a
month to finish the whole story and make the movie.My role was to be the
soundtrack engineer.I worked especially hard at the sound track because I
found really good music.The thing I am most happy with is the movie because
the it was really good.While making the movie, I learned many new technology
skills in iMovie. If I made the movie again, I would try to make it even better.
Collaboration:
Sometimes, I enjoyed group work because if I did this alone it would take me
years to finish the story.While working in a group, I learned how to make
stories really good. During the unit, our group became better at making movies
with technology.
What else?
During this story-telling unit I especially enjoyed writing the story because it
was really good. After this unit, I might continue to make stories.
