2. AIM & PURPOSE OF SLIDESHOW
The purpose of this slideshow is to present three ideas of music genres and
then present them to my peers and take into account the feedback I get.
The main purpose of this slideshow is to gain peer feedback of my ideas so I
can then decide which music genre I am going to base my music magazine
around.
This will then enable me to base my music magazine around my the feedback
of what my target audience wan because my magazine is for them.

3. IDEA ONE - RNB
Target Audience: 14-20
Male & Female 50/50 ratio
Some pages aimed at girls and some aimed at boys
Life styles: going out
With friends, students.
House style: grey, black ,white, red, blue, purple
Big fonts, different styles writing
Features to include: new music, competitions, top artists, artist tips
on things
Images to include: images of artists, fashion, album covers.

4. IDEA 2 – DRUM&BASS
Target Audience: mainly males
15-21
Pages aimed at boys but include some for girls also
Lifestyle: clubbing, festivals, going out
House style: red, white, blue, black, grey
Bold fonts, boxes, big simple writing
Features to include: free merchandise (cd’s), competitions, big tracks of the year,
big artists.
Images to include: artists, album covers

5. IDEA 3- ROCK
Target Audience: mainly men
15-25
Lifestyles: musicians, people interested in rock, certain clothing
House styles: red, black, harsh fonts which stand out, grimy.
Features to include: competitions, gigs, interviews
Images to include: rock artists, guitars, album covers.

7. PEER FEEDBACK
Most people liked my idea of drum&bass genre for my magazine,
Here are some things people said about my drum&bass idea…
“different”
“colour scheme works well”
“I like the big tracks of the year idea”
Based on this feedback I decided to go for this idea seeing as my peers liked it
the most, however they did say that I would have to change the target
audience (17-25) as this is more appealing to more people.
I also came up with the idea that I could have one page based for boys and
one page said for girls or American vs. British music with different colour
scheme.

8. FINAL DECISION
So overall I have decided to choose Drum&Bass for my magazine, this is
appropriate as this is what my peers liked the best and my magazine will be for
them so it has to appeal to them. I think this idea will be the most effective
because its quite different so therefore there is a gap in the market for this
idea. I also think the idea of doing American vs. British music on my double
page spread will be a good idea because its unique and may attract a lot of
people, and I could also change the colour scheme for each page to make it
stand out more, this was an idea that was pointed out to me by a peer so
therefore I will think about this so I can attract my audience. However I am
going to think this through some more based on my target audience because I
need to make I appeal to them, and I will also think through some of the
ideas that they suggested.
