3. Narrative Based
A narrative based music video shows a storyline
throughout the music video. Sometimes it will be shown
through the use of actors or the artist themselves. The
story tends to the link to the song. Sometimes the
narrative can feature many different characters featured
throughout the song. If the song if from a film soundtrack
it will sometimes feature clips from the film.
An example of a Narrative Based Music Video is Same Love
by Macklemore.

Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth
4. Performance Based
A performance based music video that mainly focuses on
the artist or band performing the song. A performance
based music video tends to include a wide range of shots
and angles to give different views of the stage. These
types of music videos tend to be used by more well known
artists and bands who also have a huge fan base.
An example of a performance based music video is Let Her
Go by Passenger.
5. Concept Based
A concept based music video are normally based around an
idea or concept, that is usually obscure or unusual. The
concept of the music video is usually completely different
to the song, which can cause confusion. These types of
music videos are normally aimed at niche audiences rather
than mass audiences as features of the music video would
not attract a mass audience.
