A peninsula is a piece of land surrounded by water on all sides except for one piece of land that connects the peninsula to a mainland. 5. Hoh Rain Forest The Hoh Rain Forest is part of the Olympic National Park. A Rain Forest is an area that receives large amounts of rain year round. Large amounts of rain creates large quantities of biodiversity. Notice all the green colors!
6. Banana Slug The Banana Slug is a typical animal you will find on the floor in the Hoh Rain Forest and in the Olympic National Park. Banana Slugs are very sticky! Banana Slugs come in all shapes and sizes and are commonly between 8 and 30 centimeters in length.
7. Olympic Mountains In the middle of the Olympic Peninsula there are glacier mountains. Snow and ice remain on the tops of the mountains all year. Find three other Glaciers in the world and write down their name and the country they are located in your notebooks.
