5. Trender
8. A trend is something that becomes popular within
mainstream society over a relatively long period of
time (more than a few years). It is the direction of
a sequence of events that has some momentum
and durability.
The number of people involved in a trend and its
duration will determine whether it's a "fad", a "craze",
or a macro trend.

14. RepRap 3D printers.
trenden. I det här fallet, billigt mot dyrt.
18. Some people (they are wrong) say
design is about solving problems.
Obviously designers do solve
problems, but then so do dentists.
Design is about cultural
invention. - Jack Schulze

32. A small piece of an
expanding pie is the biggest
piece of all

In every aspect of your business (and personal life) try to allow others to build their success around your own success. If you run a hotel, what can you do to
permit others—airlines, luggage retailers, tour guides—to be part of your network? Rather than viewing their dependency on your success as a form of
parasitism, or worse, as a rip-off, understand this tight coupling as sustenance. You want to entice others to create services centered around the customer
attention you have won, or to supply add-ons to your product, or even, if it is a new-fangled idea, to create legal imitations.
Back in 2006, Ze Frank – on his video podcast, The Show – ran a competition to create the ugliest MySpace page. He got accused of mocking people. Here’s
the quote… “You’re mocking people who, for the most part, have no taste or artistic training.” What Ze came back with was that, historically, only a small
number of people have been able to afford to participate in production. But this is changing. And I want to read almost this whole quote out now, because
I’m not kidding, this is perhaps the most insightful thing I’ve heard on the Web maybe ever. Here we go.
““Over the last 20 years, however, the cost of tools related to the authorship of media has plummeted. [...] The fact that tons of people know names of
fonts like Helvetica is weird!”
34. When people start learning
something new they
percieve the world around
them differently
“when people start learning something new, they perceive the world around them differently. If you start learning how to play the guitar, suddenly the guitar
stands out in all the music you listen to. [...] as more and more people have access to things like iMovie, they begin to understand the manipulative power of
editing. Watching reality TV almost becomes like a game as you try to second-guess how the editor is trying to manipulate you.”
Look. Every time a person takes into their own hands the tools of production, it’s like they have eaten a macroscope. They see and feel the world in context.
They are able to not just consume, but to produce, to invent culture.

45. The Location Clock

56. 1554 Walnut Avenue, Antioch, Californien.
