United States was 500 small
business owners with 25 or
fewer employees.
It focuses on the impact COVID-
19 has had on microbusinesses
around the world. Topics:
business operations, finance,
recovery, technology, values.

The world’s smallest
businesses are bullish
about the future,
with 92% of global
respondents saying
they expect to stay the
same or grow 25%
or more, within the
next 3-5 years.
In the U.S.A.,
respondents were
most likely to exhibit
determination about
their recovery, with
70% saying they expect
to recover within a
year from the start
of the pandemic.
91% of

have 10 or less
employees;
50% are
solo-preneurs.

Findings
Likely to exhibit determination about recovery, with 70% saying
they expected to recover within 12 months or less and 36%
expecting recovery in three months or less.
Half (51%) viewed technology as essential to their business.
A majority (66%) said they handled their own technology needs,
as compared to 54% globally.
Among highest of all countries surveyed, with 42% reporting
their microbusiness was in a position to thrive in the future.
Among the least likely to report a decline in revenues (66%)
compared to global results (75%); with a further 26% reporting
that COVID did not affect their business.
Among the least likely to report receiving COVID-related
governmental assistance (76%), as compared to 68% globally.
