6. ST. PETER’S, ROME
MARK YOUR TRAVEL CALENDAR
2016—ROME JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY
Travel to Rome has an even deeper significance in 2016! Pope Francis has declared it a Jubilee Year of Mercy—a great
historic event in the Catholic Church linked to universal pardons and reconciliation. The Jubilee begins
on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 2015, with the rare opening of the Holy Door
at St. Peter’s Basilica. Throughout this Holy Year, the Holy Doors at St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major,
and St. Paul Outside the Walls will also be opened, giving pilgrims the opportunity to pass through the
doors and receive the sacrament of forgiveness. Various events and celebrations will occur throughout
the Jubilee, with the conclusion on November 20, 2016, the Feast of Christ the King. This momentous
occasion, the thirtieth Jubilee in the history of the Catholic Church, will be celebrated around the world,
but especially in Rome. For more information on the 2016 Jubilee and our tours featuring Rome, visit
Globus.com.au.
2017—500 YEARS OF REFORMATION
On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg,
setting off the Protestant Reformation. Today, Protestants from around the globe visit Germany to celebrate
Reformation Day on October 31st by participating in the many events around the country—especially in
Martin Luther’s hometown and final resting place of Wittenberg. In 2017, Globus will feature a very special
itinerary that marks the Jubilee of the Reformation. On this 11-day journey from Berlin to Munich, you’ll
visit key Luther sites in Wittenberg, Eisleben, Erfurt, Eisenach, and more. This is a great way to retrace the
footsteps of Martin Luther and the Reformation in Germany. For more information on Globus’ European
Reformation Jubilee tour, please visit Globus.com.au or CosmosTours.com.au.
2020—OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY
Be a part of history at the world-famous Oberammergau Passion Play! Located in the heart of Bavaria,
about 60 miles southwest of Munich, the quaint and picturesque village of Oberammergau is known
around the globe for its warm hospitality and its spectacular Passion Play, performed by residents just
once every decade. Keeping a pledge made nearly 400 years ago, this re-enactment of the crucifixion
of Christ preserves the health and well-being of the town to this day. In 2020, Globus will once again
lead the way in bringing the legendary Passion Play experience to travelers. For more information, sample itineraries,
and to ensure you are “in the know” with updates, breaking news, and availability for this amazing event, please go to

YOUR BAGGAGE IS DELIVERED RIGHT TO YOUR ROOM—TIPS INCLUDED
WE SELECT THE PERFECT HOTELS
Finding the right hotel in a foreign country can be stressful—even online
reviews don’t always tell an accurate story. But with a Globus tour, you
only stay in accommodations that we’ve pre-screened and selected for
their comfort, cleanliness, attractiveness, and convenient location, often
within mere steps from the greatest sites. For example, while other Tour
Operators choose hotels outside of Venice, our Italian tours put you right
in the heart of the city!
Furthermore, we know that relaxing at the end of a busy day of
sightseeing is essential. The last thing you want to do is wrestle with
suitcases while you stand in line to check-in. The hotels we use are
masters at efficiently handling group check-ins, so all you have to
do is step off your motorcoach and into the hotel lobby. Your Tour
Director handles check-in, hands you your key, and your baggage is
delivered right to your guestroom. We even take care of the porterage
gratuity for you.
Most hotels offer free Wi-Fi in the hotel lobby.

26. ULTRA-MODERN COACHES,
FIRST-CLASS COMFORT
Forget everything you think you know about “bus tours.” On a Globus
tour, your motorcoach experience definitely isn’t an afterthought. We
include everything it takes to keep you comfortable and connected as
you travel from one amazing sight to another. Our private, first-class
motorcoaches feature all the modern amenities you’d expect—plush
seats, air-conditioning, an emergency restroom, an average group size of
just 36 travelers (so there’s lots and lots of room to stretch out and relax),
and comfort stops every two hours. Plus, one motorcoach can replace many
cars on the roads, slashing fuel usage and pollution emissions, so you could
say we’ve even thought of Mother Nature’s comfort!
FREE WIRELESS
Our motorcoaches are cutting edge, with free wireless Internet connection
while touring. Once again, Globus has ushered touring into new territory,
making it possible to browse online and share your experience with friends
and relatives back home...and it’s all at no cost!
NOTE: Free connectivity features browsing only; downloading is not available.
Some tour departures may not offer this service. Unfortunately, details regarding
availability cannot be provided prior to the commencement of the tour. Some
countries—such as Russia—and certain regions of other countries do not have
Wi-Fi service coverage, so free Wi-Fi is not available. When local motorcoaches
are used for transfers or occasionally for sightseeing tours, wireless service is
not available.

WE INVENTED CARPOOLING
28. OUR STORY BEGAN MORE THAN EIGHT
DECADES AGO
When you select a Globus vacation, you’re choosing a company
that has defined the way today’s travelers experience the world. It
all began on a spring day in 1928. While using his family’s rowboat
to transport lumber across beautiful Lake Lugano in Switzerland,
Antonio Mantegazza became inspired to share the stories of his
home with others. He soon began transporting tourists instead…
and Globus was born.
THE WORLD’S MOST HIGHLY AWARDED TOUR OPERATOR
When you do things the right way...for the right reasons, people
notice. By delivering an outstanding travel experience and focusing
on our travelers—every time—we’ve earned more accolades than
any other tour operator.
COMMITTED TO OUR PLANET
We’re committed to protecting the places we visit. By employing
environmentally friendly motorcoaches and partnering with preservation
and sustainability initiatives, we’re working to ensure the world’s icons
will be here to thrill travelers for generations to come.
