• explore moods & ideas (take advantage of the mood you’re in that day)
• experiment (not everything has to work)
• see where it leads you, allow for impulse and new ideas
• new toys (art supplies) can help get you in the mood
• artists you admire inspire
• exhibit a body of work (an art show, an album of songs or a literary play)

• experiments to answer a question – how to paint a face or a flower? what kind of background?
which color and moods? Abstract or real? Which style(s)?
• versions of the same thing or different things (which are related in some way)
