Introduction
The site is located at Persiaran Damai Utama 2, Taman
Damai Utama, 47180 Puchong, Selangor and the area of the
proposed site is decided to be 50m x 70m , which is 3500 m2.
The proposed site is surrounded by residential area which is
Taman Damai Utama and Kinrara residence and commercial
area which is Melodi and Simfoni Kinrara. Beside the site is a
pump station and a substation. Apart from that, that is an
educational area beside the commercial area. There is a
recreational area such as tennis court and football field in the
park which is a bit far from the residential area.
Objective
i. Empty land is planned in a benefit use
ii. Provide a place for residents to do exercise
iii. Provide a place where resident can spend their time
together with their family during their free time
Page | 2
Suggestion and proposal
I decide our side to be a recreational area with an area of
50m x 70m (3500m2) inside a residential area.
Throughout the analysis of our site, I explored that this
area is lacking of more recreational area for residents. There is
an area of 9821m2 residential park with 1 football field and 3
tennis court but there isn’t provide any gymnasium and a
swimming pool. If residents of this area want to go gymnasium
or swimming pool they will take about 16 min for 8.3 km
journey to the nearest gymnasium and 21 min for 13.2 km. This
will waste a lot of time and money.
Apart from that, a restaurant so as people can have their
meals after exercise. There is a garden adjoin the badminton
stadium, gymnasium and restaurant.
In addition, there are 65 parking spaces provided for the
visitors surrounding the building so as people no need to park
their vehicles opposite the site and walk through 2 triple lane
roads or even facing lacking parking space problem.
There is an advertising sign on the top of the building. The
building is building in front a T-junction and this will be seen by
the drivers that using these roads.
Page | 3
Rationale
After done our analysis of the area, I decide to build a
recreation building for the site.
According to the analysis of the site, there is commercial
area opposite the residential area and also 2 parks with a football
field and 3 tennis court. The only thing that is lacking in the site
is recreation area such as gymnasium and swimming pool.
Resident need to waste lot of their time and money to
gymnasium and swimming pool.
There isn’t any available parking space surrounding the
site except opposite of it. But visitors need to walk through 2
triple lane roads from the commercial area and it is very
dangerous way to pass the roads especially 2 triple lane roads.
i. Lack of recreational area: Residents need a nearly
gymnasium and swimming pool to exercise and relax
ii. Lack of parking space: Residents can park their vehicles
in the parking space provided which are located beside the
building
iii. Great spot to develop a sport center: Residents can go to
restaurant opposite the site to recover or the mini market to
buy daily supplies
Page | 4
Benefits
1. Provide entertainment to the residents as there is no
gymnasium and swimming pool around this residential
area.
2. Provide a healthier lifestyle for residents
3. There is an advertising sign on the top of the building to
introduce to the consumers about their products and gain
their business.
4. Resident come to the site and spend will increase the
economic growth of the site
Page | 5
Impacts
1. This site will become a busy corner.
2. During public holiday, there will be a lot of people
coming to gym and swimming and 65 parking spaces
provided are totally not enough parking spaces at all for
a large amount of people. People will need to park at
commercial area which is located opposite of our site.
3. If the building is built and it will cause visual pollution ,
sound pollution and light pollution.

guests that is intended to be used for swimming or bathing.
The swimming pool is located on the ground floor of the
building. The size of the swimming pool is 25m x20 m (500m2).
This swimming pool can used to hold a competition as it’s a
standard size for competition. While the size of the kiddie
swimming pool is 9m x 11m and divided into 2 different depth
with increasing depth form 0.5m to 1.5m.
There are pool chairs used to relax after swimming are
prepared beside the pool. Besides that, 1 life guard chair will
placed beside the pool.

Badminton Stadium
The badminton stadium is located at the 1st floor. The
standard size of a badminton court is 13.4m x 6.1m so there will
be 5 badminton courts in the stadium. The roof of the badminton
stadium and gymnasium will have a different height although
they are on the same floor because the height of badminton
stadium is 9.1m while gymnasium is 3.0m.
5 small benches against the wall are prepared for player to
put their personal belongings. Hanging lights will be 4.9m away
from floor.

Quantity surveyor
Quantity surveyor manage and control contract and cost
within construction project. They need to undertake the cost
analysis for repair and maintenance project work. Quantity
surveyor will use plans that drawn by architects to work out the
cost of constructing buildings and do a brief outline
specifications. They also prepare tender and contract documents.
As the development proceeds through many stages of design
phrase, the cost is always compared to the original construction
budget that was established at the feasibility stage. Quantity
surveyor prepare insurance replacement to estimate for building.
Apart from that, they need to identify, analysis and
develop responses to commercial risk. Lastly, they have to value
the completed work and arrange the payments.
LandscapeArchitect
Landscape architect need to research including urban
regeneration schemes, pedestrian schemes, road or retail
schemes, and maintaining the character of sites of natural beauty
before construction. He or she also need to meet the clients and
establish general landscape requirement with them. Beside that,
landscape architect need to match the client's wishes with your
knowledge of what will work best. Landscape architect need to

  • 4. Page | 2 Suggestion and proposal I decide our side to be a recreational area with an area of 50m x 70m (3500m2) inside a residential area. Throughout the analysis of our site, I explored that this area is lacking of more recreational area for residents. There is an area of 9821m2 residential park with 1 football field and 3 tennis court but there isn’t provide any gymnasium and a swimming pool. If residents of this area want to go gymnasium or swimming pool they will take about 16 min for 8.3 km journey to the nearest gymnasium and 21 min for 13.2 km. This will waste a lot of time and money. Apart from that, a restaurant so as people can have their meals after exercise. There is a garden adjoin the badminton stadium, gymnasium and restaurant. In addition, there are 65 parking spaces provided for the visitors surrounding the building so as people no need to park their vehicles opposite the site and walk through 2 triple lane roads or even facing lacking parking space problem. There is an advertising sign on the top of the building. The building is building in front a T-junction and this will be seen by the drivers that using these roads.
  • 5. Page | 3 Rationale After done our analysis of the area, I decide to build a recreation building for the site. According to the analysis of the site, there is commercial area opposite the residential area and also 2 parks with a football field and 3 tennis court. The only thing that is lacking in the site is recreation area such as gymnasium and swimming pool. Resident need to waste lot of their time and money to gymnasium and swimming pool. There isn’t any available parking space surrounding the site except opposite of it. But visitors need to walk through 2 triple lane roads from the commercial area and it is very dangerous way to pass the roads especially 2 triple lane roads. i. Lack of recreational area: Residents need a nearly gymnasium and swimming pool to exercise and relax ii. Lack of parking space: Residents can park their vehicles in the parking space provided which are located beside the building iii. Great spot to develop a sport center: Residents can go to restaurant opposite the site to recover or the mini market to buy daily supplies
  • 6. Page | 4 Benefits 1. Provide entertainment to the residents as there is no gymnasium and swimming pool around this residential area. 2. Provide a healthier lifestyle for residents 3. There is an advertising sign on the top of the building to introduce to the consumers about their products and gain their business. 4. Resident come to the site and spend will increase the economic growth of the site
  • 7. Page | 5 Impacts 1. This site will become a busy corner. 2. During public holiday, there will be a lot of people coming to gym and swimming and 65 parking spaces provided are totally not enough parking spaces at all for a large amount of people. People will need to park at commercial area which is located opposite of our site. 3. If the building is built and it will cause visual pollution , sound pollution and light pollution.
