3. CompuSpot 180AL 1.1 Introduction to the CompuSpot 180AL
CompuSpot 180 AL is a compact dent pulling system for
aluminum panel repair.
The machine is designed for rugged use in a collision
repair environment.
The system comes
complete with everything
needed for attaching and
pulling with threaded
studs.

CompuSpot 180AL can weld threaded pulling studs on a
panel surface without damaging the back side.

The system is supplied with a welding gun and two ground
clamps. These two clamps distribute the current uniformly on
the surface to produce strong, consistent welds with a
minimum of heat distortion.

CompuSpot 180AL utilizes spot welding technology
based on capacitive discharge.
When capacitors are discharged
(within a few milliseconds) a high
intensity current produces metal
fusion.
This technology makes it possible to
weld threaded studs and washers
(steel or aluminum) without damaging
surfaces. It is also possible to weld
pins for special applications.

Three rods are fixed at the head of the gun to position the
pulling stud exactly perpendicular to the panel surface. An
adjustable spring loaded system maintains uniform pressure
on the stud.

*Discharge cannot take place without contact. The risk of an

CompuSpot 180AL is certified for an IP24 level of protection
provided by cabinets or covers to prevent fouling of electrical
equipment by foreign objects, dust, and moisture.
Grade «2» as the first
digit of the code IP24
means that the
equipment is protected
against solid foreign
objects of 12,5 mm
diameter and greater
Grade «4» as the second digit of the code IP24 means that
the equipment is protected against fluids splashed from
any direction.
