Announcement for Recruitment of Incubatees


Applications are invited from graduated MDI students and participants in part time
programs for the selection of incubatees for the Technology Business Incubator (TBI)
at MDI. Candidates are required to send their application to the following:

1.      By email: to chairperson-entrepreneurship@mdi.ac.in

2.      By post:

        The Selection Committee
        Technology Business Incubator
        Centre for Entrepreneurship
        Management Development Institute
        Mehrauli Gurgaon Road
        Sukhrali
        Gurgaon 122001

The detailed procedure is given in the attachment.


Last Date for the receipt of application form is May 20, 2011


The applicants will be short-listed for an interaction.

Selection Process for Incubatees

Eligibility
o Alumni of MDI from a full time or part time program
o All graduates of the Armed Services program
o   All part time students who are not sponsored, provided they leave their employment on
    being accepted in the incubator
o   All MDP participants who have finished their MDI stint at least 2 years ago
o   The applicant should have developed the idea into a business proposal before making the
    application
o   The business proposal should be technology oriented, or technology enabled ( an organic
    farm in Pithoragarh will probably not qu alify!)



Application
o Candidates are required to make application (Annexure I) in the prescribed format
    addressed to the Centre for Entrepreneurship.

    Any other supporting documents may be brought to the interaction

Selection Process
o   Application to be received by May 20, 2011.

This will be followed by
o Intimation on short listing
o Presentation and interaction
o The presentation and interaction with the selection committee for about 30 minutes. A
    presentation of no more than 15 minutes will be made by the applicant(s)
o Final selection for incubation will be made considering both the quality of the proposal as
    well as the performance before the Selection Committee

o   Quality of idea
o   Maturity of development of idea
o   Capability of team to execute idea
o   Commitment to idea
o   Financial strength of startup
o   Fundability of startup
o   Alignment with MDI mentoring capability

Selection Committee
o   Representative of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India
o   Representative(s) of the Centre for Entrepreneurship
o   Other MDI Faculty
o   Investor/ Entrepreneur

Service Offerings of the Incubation Centre
o   Office Space - including computing, network connectivity, conferencing, and library.
o   Support from faculty and MDI's network in business and technology aspects
o   Possibility of getting suitable Mentor from relevant industry
o   Possibility of seed-funding through various government or private agencies

Announcement for Recruitment of Incubatees

  • 1. Announcement for Recruitment of Incubatees Applications are invited from graduated MDI students and participants in part time programs for the selection of incubatees for the Technology Business Incubator (TBI) at MDI. Candidates are required to send their application to the following: 1. By email: to chairperson-entrepreneurship@mdi.ac.in 2. By post: The Selection Committee Technology Business Incubator Centre for Entrepreneurship Management Development Institute Mehrauli Gurgaon Road Sukhrali Gurgaon 122001 The detailed procedure is given in the attachment. Last Date for the receipt of application form is May 20, 2011 The applicants will be short-listed for an interaction. Any queries may be directed to : chairperson-entrepreneurship@mdi.ac.in 1

Selection Process for Incubatees Eligibility o Alumni of MDI from a full time or part time program o All graduates of the Armed Services program o All part time students who are not sponsored, provided they leave their employment on being accepted in the incubator o All MDP participants who have finished their MDI stint at least 2 years ago o The applicant should have developed the idea into a business proposal before making the application o The business proposal should be technology oriented, or technology enabled ( an organic farm in Pithoragarh will probably not qu alify!) Application o Candidates are required to make application (Annexure I) in the prescribed format addressed to the Centre for Entrepreneurship. Any other supporting documents may be brought to the interaction Selection Process o Application to be received by May 20, 2011. This will be followed by o Intimation on short listing o Presentation and interaction o The presentation and interaction with the selection committee for about 30 minutes. A presentation of no more than 15 minutes will be made by the applicant(s) o Final selection for incubation will be made considering both the quality of the proposal as well as the performance before the Selection Committee Selection Criteria o Quality of idea o Maturity of development of idea o Capability of team to execute idea o Commitment to idea o Financial strength of startup o Fundability of startup o Alignment with MDI mentoring capability Selection Committee o Representative of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India o Representative(s) of the Centre for Entrepreneurship o Other MDI Faculty o Investor/ Entrepreneur Service Offerings of the Incubation Centre o Office Space - including computing, network connectivity, conferencing, and library. o Support from faculty and MDI's network in business and technology aspects o Possibility of getting suitable Mentor from relevant industry o Possibility of seed-funding through various government or private agencies 2
