âEcotechnology in practice: a workshop
for community land holders in the southern
outskirts of Mexico Cityâ
Course objectives:
The purpose was to exhibit a range of
clean technologies to help people iden-
tify the systems that best suit their needs.
Training covered the use of solar cells, dry
latrines, solar heating systems, improved
fuel efficient stoves and biogas digestor
technology (air tubs).
Target audience: A group of 15 men and
women

âSustainable tourism, San NicolĂĄs Tetelco,
TlĂĄhuac, Mexico Cityâ
Course objectives:
This projectâs purpose was to generate alternative
sources of income by creating a program of activi-
ties aimed at conserving the local flora and fauna.
Target audience:
Close to 100 community land owners of San NicolĂĄs
Tetelco.

Course objectives:
To deliver community-driven job training and skills develop-
ment for community planning within the villages and indig-
enous communities of the area.

Course Objectives:
The aim of this project was to train a group in
the planning processes involved in the crea-
tion of eco tourist destinations and related
services to meet high quality and sustainable
standards.

âParticipatory planning workshop, Ejido La
Galera, El Fuerte, Sinaloa â
Course objectives:
To help members of the âejidoâ (or co-oper-
ative) identify sustainable business activities
for the short and medium term, focusing on
providing participants with the skills to assess
and plan potential community-based tourist
activities while considering the social, political,
cultural and environmental contexts.
Target audience:
Seven families of community land holders

âCommunity participatory evaluation, Ejido
of San Miguel Topilejo, DelegaciĂłn Tlalpan,
Mexico DF
Course objectives:
To develop the participantsâ ability to plan
tourist activities focusing on organizational
approaches, involving the local community
as well as conserving cultural and environ-
mental resources.
Target audience:
Group of women of San Miguel Topilejo.

âParticipatory community assessment,
Sierra Madre Durango, Durangoâ
Course objectives:
To identify potential alternative and sus-
tainable productive activities and to explore
the feasibility of introducing tourist activities.
Target audience:
The creation of 30 jobs as a direct result of
the assessment (subject to funding) with
around 50 further positions for locals in sup-
porting roles.

âSustainable income generation & job creation:
Assessment, participatory evaluation and
training for the Nahua indigenous community of
Hueyapan, Mucipality of Tetela del VolcĂĄn,
Morelosâ
Course objectives:
The course covered the sustainable use of local
resources for income generation and job cre-
ation; it also included a workshop on the herit-
age and culture of the Hueyapan people.
Target audience:
A group of 15 people.
