The first Consumer Protecting Laws
• Federal Hazardous Substance Labeling Act (1960)-
required warming labels on household chemicals if
they were highly toxic.
• Cigarette Labeling Act (1965) – required
manufacturers to place standart warning
labels on all cigarette package.
