llocality and municipality located in the Burgos province
in the autonomus community of Castilla y León (España)
region of La Demanda, crossed by the road CL-
117 between Salas de los Infantes and Palacios de la
Sierra.
3. HISTORICAL
MONUMENTS
There are some necropolis from the High Middle Age
in the término municipal: Covacha de las Monjas,
Hornillos y Aguamediano.
There are some fossil remains: dinosaurs footprints
and dna fossilized trees. The tree fosil of Matalaguna, in
Castrillo de la Reina, is protected since 2010.
4. THE PLAY
The story starts with the family Lara and the family Ruy Velazquez
with revengue as the main engine of the plot.
Part of an old cantar of gesta was composed in 990 in the course of
the marriage beetwen Doña Lambra and Rodrigo Velázquez de Lara,
also known as Ruy Velázquez, or Roy Blásquez , Doña Sancha´s
brother , who is the infant´s mother who fight with each other. In
this fight Álvar Sánchez , Doña Lambra´s cousin, dies in the hands
of Gonzalo González, the younger of the seven infants de Lara.
