The new version of the "world-famous" Public Speaking for Geeks session. This is the version I did at Microsoft Ignite The Tour in Milan, with a lot of fresh content, including diversity & inclusion topics.
4. Start directly with the VALUE!
Tell a
story
• That
shows
VALUE
Ask a
question
• That
uncovers
VALUE
Go around
the table
• Always be in
control
Arouse
curiosity
• Bill Gates
released
mosquitoes
Tell them
why you’re
there
• Not only
your title

and

22. Code of Conduct, Diversity & Inclusion
•Is there a Code of Conduct (CoC)?
• If not, WHY NOT?
• Is there a way for people to report CoC violations?
• Microsoft has a standard CoC for their events
The speakers’ list is diverse enough?
• Offer to help them with diversity and to find speakers if they cannot.
• Have they done everything to ensure a diverse speakers’ list?
• Find a way to talk about diversity and inclusion in your presentation
•Are you using an inclusive language?
• He/she or singular they, boy/girl/person, etc.
• If something seems contronversial, do the Dry Run

23. Three types of «requisites»:
• if you don’t have them, it’s a big problem
•MUST HAVE
• the more, the better – limited only by available time/resources
LINEAR
• nobody expects them, big applause!
