- How do Screencasts work as a pedagogical tool? capturing lectures, conducting website tours, software and database training, demonstrating library functions, providing feedback to students. Again, here’s another great resource you can check out, but basically, screencasting is a good tool for illustrating your lessons. We live in a visual culture, and while learning is still a hands-on activity, screencasting supports this work in a networked environment.
