August 8—6th Grade
Transition Day
8:00 am-2:00 pm 5th Grade Student Visits—In February, the middle school counselors, Ms. Chris-
tanell and Mr. Swatosh, provided informational presentations regarding the middle school
program and nature of the school day. Students begin the course selection process.
5th Grade Parent Orientation (April 29—7:00-8:00 pm, Sperreng Cafeteria)—
Dr. Eggers and the entire administrative and counseling team will offer a brief presentation
(similar to that given at the elementary schools) and offer a tour. This is a great opportunity
to see the school.
5th Grade Student Orientation (May 9)—All fifth grade students will have an
opportunity to tour Sperreng, learn about the middle school program, meet teachers, and
see group performances. This activity is held during the school day and brings all three ele-
mentary schools together to begin thinking about the transition to middle school.
6th Grade Transition Day (August 8—8:00 am-2:00 pm)—All sixth grade stu-
dents are invited to spend a day at Sperreng to have the entire campus to themselves.
They will tour the building, begin to make new friends, interact with teachers and student
leaders, and get their class schedule. This will be a great day to practice the full middle
school experience. (More details will be forthcoming on this day’s activities.)
We are looking forward to getting to know and serve your family! Please feel free to contact
the office at any time with questions about the aforementioned activities or any supports that
are available as your student transitions to middle school. Welcome to Sperreng Middle
School!
Sincerely,
Mark Eggers, Ed.D.
