3. Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is the
study and the practice of usability.
About understanding and creating
software and other technology that
people will want to use, will be able to
use, and will find effective when used.
The concept of usability, and the methods
and tools to encourage it, achieve it, and
measure it are now touchstones in the
culture of computing.
4. Difference between UI and HCI
USER INTERFACE HUMAN COMPUTER INTERACTION
*It is like how you use the
computer and how it response of
your usage
e.g:
when we use OS as windows in
your computer. This process or
software called UI
-It is like how you designed the
computer to react with user
included interaction link between
user in computer
e.g:
Writer OS with software language
as C++,Java or others we are
cheating the OS as windows, this
software called HCI
6. -Employees in a company perform
their jobs in a faster manner
e.g: Workers in a mainland company
needed to press a lengthy sequence
of buttons in performing a task.
-Help students to increase their
productivity via writing a batch
program for the button pressing
operation
e.g: Intranet can increase
employees’ efficiency.
7. Gaining market share
People intend to buy/use products with higher
usability
e.g., Google’s search engine has the largest market
share because it is easy to use with higher efficiency
Improving productivity
9. We are advise not to be depend on HCI itself,
because there is too many things that could be
done better to attract more users, offering
them better user experience.
It’s not as simple as a robot or a software
interface that could read our emotions and
make corresponding reactions, it’s more of how
our generation, our next generation are trained
“nurtured” by the technology we are using
today.
