intercourse.
 Without the victim’s “Consent”.
 It can happen to both men and
women of any age.

24,923 rape cases were reported across India in
2012. Out of these, 24,470 were committed by

cases.The incidence of reported rapes in India for
2010 were 1.8 per 100,000 people, among the
lowest in the world.The US figure for 2010 was
27.3 per 100,000. However, it is estimated that
only 1 in 10 rapes in India gets reported, while in
the US 46% are reported.

of cash or any other valuable gifts given in demand to the
bridegroom’s family upon marriage.’
The problem of dowry has risen from past so many
years. In spite of the Laws that the Government has laid
down, no strong action is taken whenever a bride and her
parents are encircled with this demon.
A verbal contract is accepted. The groom’s family keep
demanding for all riches and wealth, and the poor parents
of the bride keep fulfilling , just for their daughter’s
happy married life and not to be missed ‘the big society.’

women are rendered as being unequal in front
of the law.

universities and can be arrested for not
wearing the correct clothing in countries such
as Iran.
