Angela Curtain completed her 15 hours of community service with a local organization that addressed needs in the community. She held 5 meetings that were each 3 hours long, both at a home and local park, where she engaged with and supported community members. The experience gave Angela a new perspective on volunteering and civic engagement, helping her better understand course topics like special education and how communities support those with disabilities. She is now more motivated to stay engaged in her community and recommends service-learning opportunities to others.
