Racism is a form of discrimination focused on 
biological, real or imagined differences that are 
done extensive cultural or religious signs or 
indicators. It is an ideology 
that appealed to biology to 
establish hierarchical 
relationships of 
inequality between groups.
The history of racism begins with segregation 
presented in antiquity. Historically, racism has been 
used to justify crimes against humanity such as 
genocide and various forms of domination of people 
like slavery, slavery, colonialism, neo-colonialism and 
imperialism. Racism is often also associated with 
ethnocentrism, chauvinism and xenophobia.
Don Miguel Hidalgo, decrees the December 6, 
1810, in the city of Guadalajara, the abolition of 
slavery. In Spain was not fully abolished slavery until 
7 October 1886 While it was abolished in 1838 on the 
mainland, persisted and legally tolerated in the 
colonies covered by the pressure of the "National 
League" who defended with arguments patriotic to 
thecreation of the transitional figure of the board 
and itsfinal abolition in 1886.
The segregation or racial separation is the 
separation of spaces, services and laws for people 
based on their ancestry. It was practiced in many 
parts of the world until the mid-twentieth century. 
In 1868 segregation laws limiting the civil rights of 
Afro-Cubans under the old "Indian laws" were 
repealed, so until the current legal code in Cuba, 
with the abolition of the Statutes of cleaning
Is a concept that is usually identified with racism 
and embracing, although it is not exactly the same 
concepts. While racism is an ideology based on the 
superiority of one race or ethnicity over others, 
racial discrimination is an act which, although is 
usually based on a racist ideology, not always 
what is.
Racism is now defined at all levels and 
international fora as an affront to basic human 
dignity and a violation of human rights. A number 
of international treaties has attempted to end 
racism.
