Background
Young Gloucestershire has been in existence since 1945ish in one form or another,
working with young people to engage, encourage, enable, enjoy and empower

Their role is to help and educate young people especially, but not exclusively,
through their leisure time activities so as to develop their physical, mental and
spiritual capabilities - so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and
members of society and that their conditions of life may be improved

Their vision is to be regarded by young people as the leading youth organisation in
Gloucestershire through meeting the changing needs of young people: delivering
high quality youth opportunities across the county and providing support to
voluntary sector youth organisations

Aims
1. To meet the needs of young people through supporting the development of
     safe and welcoming youth environments
2. Providing high quality informal education for young people
3. To value and develop staff, volunteers, trustees, friends and partnerships
4. To be sustainable
5. To increase profile and positive reputation in the community

They have three teams:

1. Youth Achievement Foundation
Provides vocational education for young people 13-16 excluded from school or at
risk. Providing opportunities for young people to gain qualifications and re-engage
with education

2. Development Team
Runs a range of programmes for 16-25 year olds not in education, employment or
training. Programmes include Princes trust team programme

3. Youth work Team
Support 90 member youth clubs across the county, deliver a range of our own
specialist provision including: Looked After Children groups, City Centre Drop in, a
mobile youth provision approx five nights a week, a range of sports programmes,
and six local youth clubs across the county
! !

The brief for Ecclesiastical does Good for Nothing

Young Gloucestershire seeks to build their position in the corporate giving
market. They believe there are companies who would be willing to support
their work but want to have a long lasting benefit

They are looking for ideas on how they can best tackle this that they can take
from the event and use immediately

They propose to start an investment/endowment fund seeking donations and
contributions to be held in a pot. The interest/earnings of this pot would be used
each year by Young Glos to support their work. This means instead of someone
making a one off donation to the charity their donation no matter how small or
large is added to other donations and only the profit spent. This will impact year on
year creating a sustainable resource and income for the charity.

They would welcome regular monthly giving to the pot by individuals and
companies, yearly donations from companies or individuals. Their aim is to create a
large pool of asset that each year contributes to the core sustainability of the
charity.

Desired outcomes
A clear brand for the project
A list of companies and contacts to target
An understanding on how the corporate market would view the proposal
Suggestions on how to promote and engage the corporate market
A potential sponsor to fund the printing of the packs
A potential sponsor for the first large donation to get the fund started
A pack to distribute to corporates regarding corporate giving including:
Information about the endowment fund and its benefits
Leaflets for individuals and for the company
Information on Young Glos as a charity
Creative marketing and tools to engage interest
