1. Seeking a Tour Manager…
Gigs are how we started Good for Nothing and they remain at the heart of what we do.
Think, hack, do, creative collaboration event things, they are high energy experiences
which last from 24 to 48 hours, for groups of up to 70 people.
Creative collaboration meets rave as they’ve been described.
They take place all over - in offices, venue spaces, basements and beyond - and this
summer will see us host our first outdoor gig as well as an appearance in a tent at a
festival, eek!
Over the last 15 months we have been doing more and more gigs and have developed
an approach which seems to work.
The devil though is in the detail, and to make the gigs run smoothly requires a lot of
work, juggling balls, spinning plates, quick thinking and doing - before, during and after
the event.
We’re now seeking a Tour Manager who will be responsible for making everything
about the way we put on gigs as smooth as possible – this is for our Good for
Nothing gigs (GFN) and Good for Something gigs (GFS) with business and
organisations, as well as supporting our new city chapters as they launch their own
regionally flavoured Good for Nothing gigs in the UK and beyond.
So it’s quite a gig…
Who are we looking for?
Project and event managing on the front foot - anticipating and going the extra mile
Detail orientated and highly organised - taking delight in the little things
Strong communication - by Twitter, phone, mail, whatever it takes to get stuff done
Turbo-doing - you write to-do lists and you do them
Self-starting – we’re a small team so initiative, energy and enthusiasm are essential
Passionate and curious - about positive social and environmental change and
innovation
A bonus if you like dabbling with the social web, photos, writing and stuff - sharing
stories as you go about your work to help grow the community
Sense of humour – Good for Nothing is a bit nuts.
