Preface
This piece of work entitled “Oasis of Sparkling
and Refreshing Truisms” shall serve as a reference
for those seeking to inspire and to provoke serious
thinking and challenging people to live life to the
max through nuggets.
These are ageless and enduring sayings from
an executive whom everyone will admire most,
especially if you have a personal conversation with
him, the Honorable President of the Laguna State
Polytechnic University DR. RICARDO A. WAGAN.
I invite the readers of this piece of work to
ponder deeper thoughts as you read Dr. Wagan’s
shining and uplifting truisms. . . not a boring moment
will exist, or an idle word escape your lips if you make
these words of wisdom a part of your life.
At this juncture, I would like to thank my
cousin Zeryl Joy Magpily-Fiscal, Instructor of this
State University at Siniloan Campus, for the support
and assistance in preparing this piece of work.

AN ACCOUNT OF WHAT I LEARNED FROM
THE HONORABLE PRESIDENT
DR. RICARDO A. WAGAN
The word of wisdom uttered by the Honorable
President Dr. Ricardo A. Wagan that registered
strongly in my minds was “Idea is the strongest
weapon which is stronger than the barrel of guns.”
In this, while I was on my way back to Siniloan riding
in the bus, I contemplated on the importance of such
statement of the Honorable President. Just in that
statement, I can say that he is truly a very
intelligent man for he is full of ideas. He is beyond
doubt a man of ideas because while I was in front of
him, he uttered intelligibly his great chunks of
knowledge, which were compiled by a writer.
His great accomplishments speak of his being a
man of wisdom and an international figure beyond
comparable. The pictures which I saw which are
displayed in his office are really very impressive
which I could share to my friends that our University
President Dr. Ricardo A. Wagan is well traveled man,
an extra-ordinary man who has circulated with great
men around the world. Truly Dr. Wagan is an icon in
the field of education.
I know I have my shortcomings, but I am very
apologetic for not responding promptly to the order
of the University President. In this regard, I can say
I am blessed for having this rare opportunity to ask
for an apology in front of our University President
because during our talk I really felt that he spoke

words of advice to live by.
It is true that at first I thought I could
hardly get in touch with the Honorable President but
now, I can say I am lucky to be given a chance to
meet our Honorable President for my chance of
hearing his words of wisdom, such will serve as my
guiding principle as I grow older. This I will not
forget that there is a great man who inspires people
thru his words of wisdom.
A million thanks to our Honorable President
for this moment that I was given his most important
time and wealth of knowledge and wisdom, this I will
treasure as long as I live.
